We’re now looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen operation and become a key part of our leadership team.

The Role

As Head Chef, you’ll be responsible for the overall performance of the kitchen, ensuring exceptional food quality, strong operational standards, and effective team leadership.

Working closely with the General Manager and wider leadership team, you’ll oversee all aspects of kitchen operations while ensuring every customer receives the quality and consistency The Steamhouse is known for.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing the kitchen team
  • Managing kitchen operations during service
  • Maintaining food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
  • Driving food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards
  • Managing stock, ordering, and kitchen costs
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and team development
  • Working alongside senior management on menu development and innovation
  • Building strong communication between kitchen and front of house teams
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and guest experience

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a natural leader who enjoys developing people as much as they enjoy creating great food.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef, Kitchen Manager, or Senior Sous Chef
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Experience managing food safety, stock control, and kitchen KPIs
  • A passion for quality, consistency, and customer experience
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
